Sion Wilkins

Tennis and education background

Colossal Tennis co-founder Sion Wilkins is a former #1 ranked USTA Northern Section player in both the 16 and 18 and Under divisions, a Class AA State Team Champion in 2001, and the 2002 Class AA MN State Doubles Champion.

A four-year letter winner for the Division 1 University of Minnesota Men’s Tennis Team, Sion played a prominent role on several NCAA qualifying teams serving as a starting member of the 2007 Gophers team that ranked as high as #11 in the nation.

Throughout his collegiate career Sion also competed in many ITA and ITF tournaments, and afterwards in Future and Challenger professional events.

A graduate in Sports Management from the University of Minnesota, Sion has a passion for education and excellence. He has coached numerous players to incredible sectional, national, and collegiate success including leading players to MN State Singles Titles and successful Division 1 tennis careers.

Coaching Experience

Sion is the current coach of the Breck School Boy’s Tennis Team. In 2016 and 2021 he led his team to a Class A State Championship and in 2015 was named Minnesota High School Coach of the Year.

The 2024 Ward C. Burton Northern Section Junior Development award winner, Sion is also a top USPTA certified coach, a Northern Section Team USA and Early Development Center coach, and past head coach for the Northern Section 14 and Under Zonal Team.

Off the court Sion can be found spending lots of time with his family, and perfecting his multi-sport racquet skills in table tennis, Wii tennis, and pickleball.
